About
This blog used to treat my 6 months stay in Santarém but has evolved to a gathering point for information about Brazil in general and the Amazon to be specific. I will post when ever I come across useful information on topics such as the rain forest, Brazil, Amazon and I really appreciate suggestions or related links.
Check this post if you want to get a glimpse and a overview of my stay in the Amazon. Feel free to contact me here or at maxsohl@gmail.com.

Tjena Max!
Jag skulle vilja ha kontakt med någon svensk som befinner sig i Santarém. Har du en e-postadress eller telefonnummer till någon svensk där som kommer att befinna sig där ett tag?
Supermånga tack så länge!

Hi Max,
Thanks for visiting my blog. Glad you liked the article on Global Voices. It seems you are on a great journey and I wish you much luck with it. Some 12 years ago my ex-husband, who is British, spent 6 months in Santarém working as a doctor. Two years ago it was my turn, although I only stayed for a week on board of Abaré boat, but it’s colours and sounds have stayed with me. This is to say that this place is real special for those who are searching and you are on the right track.
All the best,
Deborah

Hey Max do you have anything to do with Treasure Island Media? If not, sorry.

Hi Max!
Today I read that you wrote a piece about our disarmament actions in March and last year. You wrote that I must be angry at Saab because of the frantic hammering I did. I have to say that I am not very angry at all. At least not emotionally. I very seldom feel anger. Maybe on an intellectual level – because there are sure huge reasons for feeling angry, over wars, gross inequalities and so on, but I don’t think I am inclined to feel anger very much. I do disarmament actions because I think it can be effective for getting to a peaceful world. If I would find that these methods are unproductive I would give them up in a heartbeat.
Hope things are fine in Brasil.
peace,
martin
